Экспозиция музея посвящена пребыванию Николая II, его семьи и слуг в Тобольске. Так что это такой музей, который довольно узкий по тематике, но по погружению в данную тему — весьма глубокий. Следовательно, можно узнать много нового, особенно если ходить не самому, а с экскурсией или с аудиогидом. Возможно, некоторые экспонаты не оригинальны, но благодаря подбору и расположению всех экспонатов — как подлинных, так и копий — музей производит очень хорошее впечатление. К тому же он недавно открылся — в 2018 году — поэтому и выглядит очень свежо и по-новому. Ну и, естественно, он посвящён очень непростой части российской истории, так что есть о чём задуматься независимо от своего отношения к тем событиям.
